GSSD Geothermal Split System Heat Pump with Optional Desuperheater
Features and Benefits
- Available in 2 through 6-ton system sizes, all encased in a compact 22 in. x 23 5/16 in.
x 24 5/16 in. cabinet.
- Flexible design that may be installed just about anywhere: an attic, basement, or tucked
away in a closet.
- Stainless steel, brazed plate, heat exchanger improves performance and lowers installed
cost.
- Lower pressure drop means, in most cases, a single pump kit can be used for all unit
sizes up to 3.5 tons.
- No need to use a cupro-nickel heat exchanger in open-loop applications, which results in
less cost and longer heat exchanger life.
- Efficient Copeland Quantum Compliant scroll compressor in all sizes.
- Factory installed filter drier and accumulator in all Trane split systems.
- An optional desuperheater, with internal components, is available.
Service Advantages
- Unique diagonally split cabinet design offers unparalleled service access.
- Two screws release top half of the cabinet for full-service access.
- Brass swivel water connections offer quick hook-up to loop lines: no back-up wrench is
required for installation.
- Fully insulated cabinet reduces condensate formation and noise transmission.
- Units are pressurized with a dry-nitrogen, holding charge at shipment to keep components
clean.
Efficient Operation
- Efficient operation through a wide range of entering fluid temperatures from 25 F to 120
F.
- Performance at ARI 325 and 330 standard conditions for heating and cooling performance
are matched with the Trane air handler package.

| Note: EER=Energy Efficiency Ratio;
COP=Coefficient of Performance; Cooling capacity is based on ARI 325 conditions: 80/67 F
DB/WB entering air temperature and 70/50 F entering water temperature. Heating capacity is
based on 70 F DB entering air temperature and 70/50 F entering water temperature.
Efficiencies include pumping penalty. |
